Core feature
ChatGPT snapshots that record what customers are actually told
Write the questions your customers really ask, capture how ChatGPT answers them and keep every answer as a dated record. Over weeks, the snapshots show whether your brand is mentioned, how it is described and which sources sit beside it.
What it is for
The question it answers
“What does ChatGPT say when customers ask about us?”
Most teams discuss AI search based on a single screenshot someone took last month. That is not evidence. A ChatGPT snapshot is a saved, dated answer to a specific prompt, stored in the client workspace so anyone on the team can review it later.
Because AI answers vary with wording, timing and model updates, the value comes from repetition. Re-running the same prompts builds a history: which brands appear, where your name sits in the answer, and whether the description of your services is accurate. Favourite prompts make that repetition easy.
Inputs, workflow and outputs
How it works in practice
You bring
- Prompts written in your customers’ own words
- The client workspace the prompts belong to
- Your monthly snapshot allowance, which depends on your plan
Write the prompt
Use the wording a customer would type, not internal product names. Save important prompts as favourites.
Run the snapshot
ChatGPT searches the web and prepares an answer, which is saved with its date.
Review the answer
See whether your brand appears, how it is described and which other brands or sources are named.
Repeat over time
Re-run the same favourite prompts later and compare snapshots to see what changed.
You get
- A saved history of ChatGPT answers for each prompt
- Mentions and answer positions for brands in each run
- Trends of observations over a chosen period
- Evidence you can attach to tasks and client reports
Who benefits
Who gets the most from it
- In-house marketers
- Answer the question leadership keeps asking, “what does ChatGPT say about us?”, with dated evidence.
- Account managers
- Show clients exactly what an AI answer said before and after content work.
- Content writers
- See how answers are phrased and which facts they rely on before writing a brief.
Illustrative example
An accounting practice tracking one question
Illustrative example, not customer data. A small accounting firm in Brisbane wants to know how it is described for sole-trader tax help.
“Who can help a sole trader in Brisbane lodge a tax return?” saved as a favourite.
The answer names three firms and a government page. The practice is not mentioned.
The team adds a clear sole-trader services page with fees and turnaround as text.
The same prompt is re-run weeks later and the two snapshots are compared side by side.
Limitations
What it does not do
Honest limits help you set the right expectations with stakeholders. See the general FAQ for more.
- A snapshot records one answer at one moment. Answers vary with wording, time, location and model version.
- ChatGPT is the core observation source. We do not promise live testing of every AI provider.
- A mention in a snapshot is not a ranking, and a missing mention is not a penalty. Treat both as evidence to compare.
- Snapshots count against your plan’s monthly allowance.
Questions
AI observations and ChatGPT snapshots: frequently asked questions
Why does my snapshot differ from what I see in ChatGPT?
Your personal ChatGPT may use different settings, history, location or model version. Snapshots are useful because the same prompt is run the same way and saved, so comparisons over time are fairer than one-off screenshots.
How many prompts should I track?
Start with ten to twenty questions that drive real enquiries. A small set re-run consistently is more useful than hundreds run once.
Can I see competitors in the answers?
Yes. Snapshots show which brands and sources appear, which is often the starting point for competitor analysis.
